I wonder which train #183 was pulling at Denison station in 1932. [DeGolyer Library collection]

I'm not 100% sure, but I think she still had her Coffin Feedwater heater in 1932. 183 and 187 came out with them when rebuilt. If it was the other side or the pic was hi-res I maybe could see for sure. The water pump was on the other side.
    Neat picture.

The volatone whistle is gone as are the Doric stripes… May be later than ‘32

I've been going through some pictures of 183. The one I'm looking for is a left side view showing the Coffin pump under the cab. I have found one in '37 that looks like it still has the FWH, but can't find the pump. Pipes running up into front of smokebox. NO striping. Found one from the 20s WITH striping. I think it was an on again off again thing with the striping.

187 fresh from rebuild. WITH striping and Coffin FWH with pump under the cab. I can't tell if the airhorns are on the cab roof or were added later. Frisco was always changing stuff around. Spiffy little engine. Only two got the FWH for some reason.
    Thoroughly modern Millie.
