Thanks to some generous donors, these switch stands, as well as two stainless steel Frisco emblems that one adorned the Frisco Building located at 3253 East Trafficway, Springfield, MO, now call their permanent home the Railroad Historical Museum of Springfield, MO. Eight, 9-ft, new railroad ties were donated to the museum for mounting the switch stands which were then displayed on a concrete platform along with the mounted Frisco emblems. Previously, these switch stands were on temporary display behind the Burlington Northern caboose at the back of the outdoor museum. Now, guests are greeted by these signs as the approach the front gates of the museum. One of the switch stands has the KCFS&M letters imprinted on it, which dates prior to 1902. The RRHM of Springfield, MO would like to thank the following for their donations: The Musgrave Foundation for funding the concrete used to mount the ties and Frisco emblems. Amrail Construction, Inc. of Tulsa, OK in corporation with Central Plains Cement Company in Springfield, MO for donating, transporting and storing the new full length 9 feet railroad ties. Mr. Louis Griesemer from Springfield, MO for the donation of the two stainless steel FRISCO emblems.
