In order to hopefully get more eyeballs to potentially answer my question, I am posting this in HO, as well. My Hallmark standard Frisco caboose has a row of hooks under the edge of each side. The Frisco side door caboose has the same hooks. A photograph is attached so you can see them. Are these for storing chains? Any ideas? I would think poles for poling would be closer to the front of the train. It would be pretty inconvenient to retrieve a pole all the way at the back of the train. Thanks, Paul Moore
Paul, Take a look at the photographs on this post. http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/caboose-slsf-1145.3648/#post-24328 The hook were for hanging cables or chains that could be used for pulling cars out of a siding, to possibly get a car re-railed or limp a car along that has a damaged drawbar or coupler.
