Galloway, MO. Per the old Frisco Museum's Eastern Division Diagram Book, the depot at Galloway, MO was a 18 foot by 32 foot structure that sat on wood blocks. The south end of the structure was occupied by a 7 foot x 12 foot ticket office and a 10 foot x 12 foot waiting room. The 17 foot x 19 foot freight and baggage room occupied the north half of the depot. The location of the structure can be seen in this non-copyrighted 1904 Plat which was taken from Greene County Archives Bulletin No 34, March 1997. The Greene County Archives and Record Center has a wealth of information, and these bulletins may be purchased for just a few dollars. The center is located at 1126 Boonville, Springfield, MO. The June 1926 issue of the Frisco Employee magazine (FEM) states that 5 tomato canneries existed along the Chadwick Branch. It is a safe bet that the Galloway Cannery produced this product.

Using MS Visio, here is a little imagineering of a floor plan and elevations for the depot at Galloway, MO. Using the "known" quantities from the museum diagram book, measuring a few others, and using the Springfield Library photograph of the Ozark, MO depot, here is my guess. While looking through the Museum's Eastern Division Diagram book, I noticed that the depot at Pearl, MO on Clinton Subdivision had a mirror image of the Galloway floor plan with similar dimensions. A photograph of the Pearl, MO depot may be found in the Springfield Public Library Collection. The structure would make nice model for a small layout.

One of the absolute hardest photographs that I have ever tried to locate, the Frisco depot in Galloway, Missouri on the Chadwick, later Ozark, Branch. The photograph was taken around 1910 and shows a section house dwelling in the background. The boys are sitting on metal fencing. Karl Brand: Given the oxide livery of the depot, I suspect a date that is post 1916. This livery used a period after the station name.
