Here are two more oldies from the stack of "Enid negatives" I have. SLSF 278 and SLSF 280, both F-M H-10-44s. Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. Note they are both still in the delivery Roman lettering type face or font, and they have not yet received the different horn, spark arrestors, antennas, and cab roof beacons that the SLSF applied. They both do sport their class lights on the nose, however. I wonder if the Frisco specified those on the order to F-M. Ken
Ken, We are enjoying the "Enid negative" photographs. Please keep posting them. If these locomotives were shot in Enid, I wonder if they had been used on locals to that city from Tulsa. I have seen photos of the H-10-44 units on locals from Tulsa to Oklahoma City and to Muskogee. That may help explain the class lights. Are there any photographs of buildings, depots, facilities or rolling stock in your collection? Thanks! Mark
Mark, Thanks for the comment. There certainly are more "Enid negatives" to be posted. I scanned several more tonight as I suffered through Kansas University verses Texas game. Thank goodness basketball season is here! There are about 50 negatives total. All of Frisco power, except for one of a wrecker crane. Unfortunately, none of rolling stock, depots, buildings, etc. Ken
I have delivery shots of H-10-44s SLSF 271 and SLSF 272. They do not have the class lights mounted, so the Frisco put them on shortly after the units entered service. Makes sense. Ken
