    Hey Y'all,

I was looking on eBay at Frisco stuff and all this "Pigs are beautiful" are abound. I searched here and found nothing except modeling questions and such. So, what is the Frisco "Pigs are beautiful" all about?

Thanks Ken. Now don't I feel stupid. Piggy Back. Duh. I'm so used to Trailer Train, Container Train, Stack Train, etc. No one seems to talk about Piggy-Back's anymore. So this was just the Frisco trying to promote their piggy-back service. Gotcha. Thanks again.

Right. It was a frisco advertising campaign for piggyback. Frisco had 40 foot trailers with the pigs are beautiful logo in addition to the advertising materials.

For modeling purpouses, Microscale makes decals for the trailers. In N-scale, Athearn has released pigs are beautiful trailers.

Oh man that is funny. After looking at this thread, I went
and looked at my refrigerator and after seven moves and at least
three new refrigerators was two magnets with Frisco logo
and "pigs are beautiful". Those things are at least 35 yrs old.
My wife's dad worked for FTC and give them to us.

I'm glad that folks are getting a kick out of my silly question. I'm embarrassed actually. I long forgot about piggy back service. I think that the "Pigs are beautiful" is one of the more interesting attempts at marketing by a railroad. You can actually laugh with it, not at it.

Before I knew that I only wanted Frisco collectibles, Frisco models, etc., I once picked up an ICG giant lapel pin at a flea market. It was a side-profile of a smiling orange pig with railroad wheels on its feet, and a white rail cross-section "I" logo. I presume it was designed to tout the ICG's piggyback service.

My refrigerator magnets are Orange also, with a red Frisco
logo. Could be a pig run through agreement with IC.
