Does anyone here have insight as to just how much the Frisco was orginally involved with the North Arkansas? From reading Dr. James Fair Jr.'s book, "The North Arkansas Line", the indications are that Frisco's C.W. Rogers was VERY involved with the Eureka Springs Railway line originally, and the SLSF was going to financially back the extension to Harrison, Arkansas. Further, according to Dr. Fair, the Frisco's mechanical department was involved in the purchasing of the ES Rwy's engine #1 and supplying freight equipment to the line. I guess what I'm wondering is: Technically, was the Eureka Springs Railway a subsidiary of the Frisco? Anyone? Andre
The Frisco was a minority shareholder at best. http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?5027-System-Map-circa-1904&highlight=capt
Hi Andre, I also have "The North Arkansas Line" by Dr. Jame Fair. There is a lots of history in this book. I love this book, I read it all the time. Anyway, I thought I might add this, The Frisco RR was a shareholder for The ES Railway and I think the other RR as well, all but the last RR, The A&O RR, The Frisco RR was not involve with The A&O RR but with the interchange with The Frisco RR in Seligman, I think this is correct. I need to read Dr. Fair book again to make sure. Brian Waller
