Anyone seen the repainted Frisco caboose on E-Bay? $5000 does not sound bad, but transporting it from Mobile, AL to Cedar Hill would probably be $15,000! Oh, well, another one goes bye bye! Dan
Hope they repaint her in Frisco colors. I wonder who the bidder is? Five grand is not bad. I saw some on the Ozark mountain Railroad web site for over $40,000. Be a nice thing to put in my backyard. Ship it on the Frisco! Murphy Jenkins
I cannot find it. But I did find an HO-scale bay window caboose by Walthers. If my dad would let me, I would buy it.
Hi Ethan, The bidding time may be over now. I just searched for caboose in the all categories field. Looks like an old Frisco wood job. Dan

Hello everyone, Glad to be a new member to the board. A collogue and I purchased the caboose and will move it soon to its new home to begin a full restoration. It will be on display at a museum. Any photographs and information is helpful. It is caboose SLSF 1173. We would like to know the build date and if it was originally one of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe (ATSF) cabooses. We would be happy to post photographs as the restoration progresses if anyone is interested. Thanks again.
It is not a former Santa Fe caboose. It is an all Frisco car. I do not know the exact build date, but it is from the 1920s. The caboose SLSF 1160 is a car in the same class. It is in Fort Smith, AR. I will look up more information on it as time comes. Have fun with your restoration project. Ship it on the Frisco! Murphy Millican
I believe the ATSF cabooses had a rounded roof, whereas the original Frisco cabooses had peaked roofs. Does the caboose have a rounded roof or a peaked roof? The original Frisco rear cupola cabooses had three evenly spaced car body side windows forward of the cupola on the right side. The ATSF cabooses appear to have had one window nearly under the cupola with the other two further forward, the three were not evenly spaced. Post some current photographs and we all can help.
