Hello Ethan, Please visit my Thread "Saving The Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railroad" and tell me if you can Help Me. Thanks, Brian Waller
Really great progress on the layout. You'll probably see my post - hope I didn't embarrass you. I am impressed !!
Sorry it's been a while, been busy w/ school! Graduation is THIS YEAR!!!!! But, to answer your question, I was too young to remember b/c my dad had an old '70s or '80s Tyco Bicentennial C-430 set. And back when KB Toys was in bizz we'd get Model Power & Bachmann stuff on sale. This got me started on Santa Fe in HO-scale, which leads me to my first modeling project, adding grab irons to Athearn F7A and B units. As far as the 4-8-4, have you considered a Bachmann ATSF style 4-8-4, ask around and see how that goes.
Amen to the RTR's! What a money saver. I don't have the funds for a BL 4-8-4, so I'm getting facts about painting a pacific I have. friscochoctaw, how old were you when you started modeling if you don't mind me asking? I was 9, but it wasn't ya know series frisco modeling, just a starter train set.
I'm 17. But, I don't have much time or money to do serious modeling. That goodness for R-T-Rs, right?
