You never know what treasure is in your closet, I have a HO coal mine kit from the early 70's that still needs to be assembled. Joe
Tom, The side rails are pre drilled and they provide a jig to place the side rails on edge. I lost my patience, and tried another method. I made the rungs wider to be trimmed later. I placed the side rails together on edge, aligned the holes, slid the rungs through then separated the side rails by pushing wth a x- acto blade to get the correct distance betwee the rails. Used a pin to place a dab of ACC and insta set on the outside of the rails. Trimmed off the access wire and ready to paint.
John that looks great. I have a couple but never tried to assemble one. Maybe this will be the motivator. What color did you use for the "brown"?
Poly Scale Acrylic "Roof Red" I was going to paint it Lt. Frt. car red. It was dried up, so I had an un-opened bottle of roof red and brush painted.
Dadgum... I missed a geep07 post. Those are always worth seeing! That's a very nice looking caboose, John! You (and your layout) are on my "Frisco Heroes" list! Andre
Best color I found for mine was at O'Reilly auto parts. Duplicolor Red Primer in a big rattle can. The wood soaks it up and I never had any run problems.
You're way more patient than I am. That would have had me looking for some complete ladders to put on the model.
