Thanks Karl. One more thing, who's on the siding of the round house? I see the number but cant make it out. JASON ROSS BHAM AL
I was over there a few weeks ago and took some shots of the old turntable. This shot looks like it was taken from the northwest looking towards what is now South Pace Blvd
An old Art Johnson neg/print. He climbed up on the coal chute to take it. Wish I had that neg to scan.
The way it was... http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/m-s-b-p-rr-pensacola-facilities.1334/
every thing above rip 5 is gone the turntable is there the roundhouse is gone, the turntable doesnt work anymore, there is a little crappy BN buit depot in the middle there it shows storeroom on the schematic thats not used anymore. as for the other tracks from the turntable to the bottom of the schematic most are there just out of service use 2 for storage and have 3 to use to switch and runaround.... rip 5 is used to spot rock for a guy that has a contract with the state for road work. they have really let this yard go and its disappointing because it was set up so nice. was the best yard on the line there to Amory
HWB posted some photos of the turntable a while back: http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/pensacola-turntable.4068/ Rich
Turntable is now at the Florida Railroad Museum. Yes we put it on a flat car for now, but plans are to install it at our Willow grounds in the coming future.
