Steve - OK, I have the T-460, the HC-460, the B-440, the H-124, and the 187-319 for you. However, the HN-86 name set was sold this afternoon, and that was the only one I have. So, it's five sets at $2.50 = $12.50, plus $2.00 postage, for a total of $14.50. Thanks again, I appreciate it! Enjoy! Ken
I like passenger cars, but I find them difficult to model and run. I have Con-Cor TS cars and a bunch of Rivarossi Heavyweights and couple of Bachmann heavyweights. I may be interested in the MKT set. Didn't even occur to me, truth be told. I'll see if I have the right cars. I wouldn't list them in such detail--you could just name roads and list type of car--if someone wants to know more they can ask. I'm not familiar with the HN sets, but I like some odd ball roads, such as the M&StL and the CGW. Anything like that?
There is a Champ MKT passenger set (heavyweights) as well. Looks very much like the Walthers, but it has red MKT heralds (for a baggage car). The Walthers has bronze/gold outline MKT heralds. Ken
Here are some additional Champ decals for roads other than the good old SLSF. Remember, you need a healthy dose of foreign roads in your trains to make them realistic. Champ price is $2.50 per set, plus postage. Payment as described several times above. As was suggested, I'll not provide detailed info on each set. Ask questions if you want more of a description. Champ decals, all complete in their original envelope: (X)HB-1, MKT Katy boxcar, yellow car HB-17, CB&Q Burlington boxcar HB-22, CNW Chicago & North Western boxcar HB-28, Canadian National boxcar, neat maple leaf logo HB-60, Union Pacific boxcar HB-173, L&N Louisville & Nashville boxcar HB-174, CG, Central of Georgia boxcar HB-315, SP Southern Pacific boxcar HB-322, ACL Atlantic Coast Line boxcar HG-135, ICG Illinois Central Gulf gondola (X)EH-146, MKT Katy Diesel locomotive (X)EH-209, BN Burlington Northern Diesel locomotive (I bet there will be a fight for this one!) I've cut on several of them, so I'll need to go through each to see what we have in new condition. I've included the last two in the list above as teasers. Ken
Let's see that old trailer on your layout - sitting around for storage, etc, in a yard, all weathered up. K
I was hammered by Oddballs to the tune of $500+. IF the Oddballs B&Y stripe set can be reproduced in HO scale with a shade deeper yellow, I will commit to 12 sets.
Tom - Which stripe set are you referring to? The F-unit and FA unit "cigar band" stripes? The 187-806? I have a set, BTW, one stripe set has been removed, all the others still there. Combine it with other purchases for $1 additional. K
More Champ decals ..... Here are the "Name" sets. All of these are unused, in their original envelope. The sets contain a variety of names, logos, and reporting initials ("SL-SF" for example. In some cases, there are remnants of another set I used included. These are not the latest lettering styles and logos, etc, but are generally earlier versions ('50's-'60's). Generally white lettering with logos as appropriate. All these are the normal $2.50 Champ price. HN-3, IC Illinois Central HN-9, B&O Baltimore & Ohio HN-27, CIL Monon HN-29, SSW St Louis Southwestern HN-31, WP Western Pacific HN-39Y, UP Union Pacific (yellow lettering) HN-42, C&A Alton Road HN-64, FEC Florida East Coast HN-66, GN Great Northern HN-68, GM&O Gulf, Mobile & Ohio (X)HN-75, MKT Missouri-Kansas-Texas HN-77, NC&StL Nashville, Chattanooga & St Louis HN-78, NP Northern Pacific HN-180, PRR Pennsylvania (Shadow Keystone) Here are two sets that have been partially used; a small portion has been removed. The bulk of the decal is still there, quite usable. These are $1.25 each, half price. HN-2, WAB Wabash HN-62, MP Missouri Pacific Here is a special set Champ made for the Gould (now Tichy) flat car. They are just as useful for any similar flat car. Road names included are GN, WP, L&N, BAR, T&P, MKT, NC&StL, CP. White lettering, lots of numbers. Unused. Price is $2.50 per set. Two sets available. (These were made as a special when the Gould flat car model was released. (X)HC-646, Gould 40ft, 50 ton flat car [only one set remaining] Enjoy! Ken
Look what I got a couple of months ago: The box has two flat car kits. Will one set do two cars? They can be different roads...
Gary - Yes, on set will do two (or more) flat cars. Using a name set as well would expand the list of roads you could model beyond the road names in the Gould set. Ken
Tom - No, the Champ Name sets are for use on freight cars. You will need decals from another sheet for the "fine print" as the name sets are just names, logos, reporting initials. There is a MKT diesel set, EH-146. It has some nice red MKT logos for use on E's and F's, but the set also has black MKT lettering and numbers - I don't know what locos used those. Ken
Sign me up for one set, then. Roads in set are just fine. If I read your response correctly, you have decals that would work for tank cars as per my Tichy 4020 thread?
Gary - Yes, I still have two complete tank car sets that will do wonders on the Tichy 4020 or 4025 tank cars. First is the Champ HT-71, a full set for a SHPX tank car. SHPX was the tank car operation run by ACF - a leading private name leased tank car line, SHPX, run by the leading (in my opinion) car builder, ACF, American Car & Foundry. I also have Champ set HT-184, a full set for a North American Tank Car line leased car, NATC. Has a nice logo for the tank car. Both sets are white lettering, on a black tank car. Each set has a diagram for the car. Either set would work great! K
gna - Can do. The SHPX HT-71 tank car set shows a new date of 1952. The NATX HT-184 tank car set shows a new date of 1923.as dates The Gould special multi-flat car set HC-646 has dates all over the map - 1929, 1931, 1934, 1935, 1937, 1940, possibly more. Everything is in white lettering, so you could use decals from the flat car set on the tank cars, etc. The flat car set has a wealth of numbers and other details on it. Ken
