I found this simple photo on ebay. I thought the notes on the back were worth posting. Maybe someone can confirm "NRHS KCC". Looks like the photo might have been taken by RL Cooper.
At least one Don Smith photo appears in 'Trains' magazine. It shows a decapod hauling a train on the Highline. We had a Don Smith in the Springfield NRHS, but he informed us he was not the same Don Smith. Good to see this photo of the other Don Smith. Good labeling of the photo. We could all learn from this example. John Sanders Springfield, MO
The campanion to this photograph is posted here... http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/four-aces-at-clinton-mo-feb-5-1950.6189/ The caption on my image was written in the same hand, and it was taken on the same day.
Just fixed the link in Karl's post #3. I'm inclined to give any of these a "bump," if for no other reason than to regenerate some interest in items that folks may have overlooked or forgotten. Best Regards,
Don Smith was an excellent photographer in the late steam era. I think he published a book or maybe two "back in the day"with excellent photography, especially night shots.
