Several users have had recent problems uploading attachments and pictures. Some users have given me their passwords to log in as them and try it from my end. So far, I have been successful each time. This would seem to indicate that the problem is on the user's end (and probably cookie based). I suggest logging in and out (maybe deleting cookies) and trying again. If you cannot upload images and have not reported this to me, please do so. Charlie
Tim, You were not using the enhanced editor. That may have been your issue. Otherwise, it works fine for me logging in as you. Charlie
Charlie, There is definitely an issue here with the website. I cannot upload from my Linux box using either Firefox or Google Chrome I cannot upload from my Mac using either Safari or Firefox. The real question is how are you posting the attachments. The fact that you can use your web-browser to post with other people's login information just proves that your configuration works, it doesn't tell any of us having trouble how to fix the issue, and this may not be an issue we can fix with either browser settings or profile settings. If you want me to try something else (and I have no access to windows machines, so that is out of the question) I will ( and No, you cannot have my password to log in (sorry, sending passwords to others is a big security no no)). This is a test from Firefox. I noticed when using Firefox, the Manage Attachments dialog box opened behind the original window that I am working in. Is it possible that the same happens for everyone else and they don't notice that another window has opened in the background?
Windows 7 Professional 32 bit machine using Firefox. The manage attachments window popped up, then disappeared behind the main Firefox window. On my desktop, it shows up as a "ghost" behind the main Firefox icon on the Taskbar. George
See the post below. Here is a picture of the taskbar on my machine. The red line shows the ghost icon behind the Firefox icon that indicates the "Manage Attachments" window has indeed sprung up, but hid itself behind the main Firefox window. At least this is how Firefox on Windows 7 does it. Obviously other systems and browsers will behave differently, but the advice is to look around for "strange things."
In order to upload a new attachment, you have to use the add button at the top of the manage attachments window to get to the upload dialog. All that works fine. I can select the files I want to upload using the browse button, but when I select the upload button, the actual upload fails ( and I have tried both the basic and advanced uploaders ). Because the upload fails, there is no way to attach the file to a message, since you ave to select it from the list of uploaded files. So this has nothing to do with the windows, only the upload process itself. Paul
I don't know if the script is run on Java, but for curiosity sake, what version of Java is running on your computer, Paul?
On the Linux machine: Code: bash-4.2$ java -version java version "1.7.0_40" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (fedora-2.4.2.4.fc18-x86_64 u40-b60) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.0-b56, mixed mode) I'll have to check the Mac later, but it should be running the latest version available. Paul
