I've really enjoyed seeing the recently posted "Steve's Photo's". Very informational and inspirational for us Frisco modelers. Thank you for sharing them. I wasn't aware that there was a caboose dedicated to the Claremore Turn. Apparently this train started its day in Enid (photo location). For obvious reasons I'm motivated to model SLSF 1166, the Claremore Turn, as shown in Steve's group of photo's. What would be a good starting point for the construction of an HO model? Thanks, Jim Senese Claremore, OK
I was starting to like the pics of the caboose until I saw that Gawd-awful ZeroU scrawl next to that noble orange. It musta made a trip or two in Oklahoma..........................
Too bad it never got close to some people here in Kansas including myself or there would have been a big Jayhawk sticker on it!
Figures. I won't add any more to this border war except to say that proper people don't defile private property. LOL
It may be, but that sticker does exist here in Oklahoma. Matter of fact, I live in A House Divided (I'm an OSU grad, the missus is an OU fan). I still love her, anyway....... And ya gotta admit, it looks better than the alleged "art" you see on freight cars these days (that's a whole 'nuther argument I'm not getting into)
After further review...........you're right- it DOES look like a Photoshop. Thing is, why didn't the person who did this just cover up the hog on the side? Oh well, it IS kinda funny..............
A silly as the football stickers are, it's waaaay better than the gang grafitti on EACH and EVERY railway car that goes by in a freight train. How COME (Note spelling Frisco Friend) the railroad police can chase all the raifans off the property and never stop the tagging?? Tom
I saw some cool Graffitti on a hopper car once. It was a mural of some rural town done in spray paint. The left the car info untouched. If trains had to be tagged this would be the way to do it.
