I would like to buy a f6-7-8-9 A and B unit frisco with DCC and sound. I haven't been able to find them Where or where.??? Micsmaster
What's an F6? I believe Athearn offered a Frisco F7 A-B (or maybe it was an F3 set) in black and yellow a while back as part of their Genesis line. You might be able to find that on ebay or troll for one on the HO Interchange site. I'm not aware of anything currently on the market, although if you're handy with an airbrush, you can go with an undec set and paint it yourself. GS
If E units, there are still HO Rivarossi units around on the bay. I have a pair from lonnng ago in Frisco paint, my own doing. I think Model Power also produced some. Dan
Intermountain Railway has a Frisco B/Y F-7 A-B set shown here: http://www.intermountain-railway.com/ho/loco/holocfp7.htm HOWEVER, Intermountain isn't very reliable when it comes to projected release dates. The notation beside their HO Frisco F-7's is: "Contact Your Dealer!" Whatever that might mean?? I've been waiting on an IM pre-order for their N scale Frisco FP-7's and F-7B's for about three years now and they keep putting it off. I have several IM engines and they're very nice, it's just too bad that they can't deliver what they promise... Tom G.
I have always thought that "Contact Your Dealer" meant that the specific model had arrived at Intermountain and been distributed to their Dealer network and were available at the retail level. Intermountain unlike others such as Kadee and Tangent does not sell their models directly. Hope this helps.
Micmaster, To my knowledge there is only 2 EMD F units that have been produced, one being the F3 by athearn genesis. These occasionally pop up on ebay, some with sound, some without. The other is the first run of FP7a and F7B by intermountain. I have seen some of the F7B units floating around on ebay, but not the FP7A's. Frisco also had some F9's built from F3's but those haven't been produced. If you meant E units, watch ebay as walthers made some nice E8's a while back and they pop up too. Ethan
Although, I think Mic has his answer, as to your F3 comment - Stewart made F3A's and B's in a variety of "phases" that include high or low fans, 1 headlight or 2, etc. Also, Walthers and Athearn both produced an F7A & B sets. Atlas produced an FP7. I won't count the Cary (cast metal shell) F3A as a viable model alternative. Life-Like produced a nice E8/9, but no E-6's that I am aware of.
This thread isn't really going anywhere, why don't we wait for "micsmaster" to log in and clarify his request? We're all just guessing at what he was trying to say... TAG1014
