  4. The Van Buren Frisco station now houses the River Valley Museum

They have a Frisco vault, a book of tickets, some Frisco-land advertisements and some of the pictures posted above.

I board here when I work as a Volunteer Conductor on the A&M Railroad.

Please see the following link for a trackside view of the Van Buren, AR depot.

Please see the following street side view.

The depot's agent / operator bay faces north northwest. The Frisco favored lower quadrant train order signals as seen above the operator's bay. Railroad west is down the hill to the right.

Note in the first photo on the far right the back side of the fixed approach signal to the Van Buren interlocking at the diamond crossing with the Missouri Pacific Railroad (MP, now UP).

The depot address is 813 Main Street.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Mark

Neat photograph. Especially of the wooden ceiling under the "porch."

The Van Buren depot was pretty similar to the Chaffee, MO depot.

This will be a nice detail to add if I ever finish building an HO-model.

I have wall sections cut and sitting in their own box someday.

    Best Regards,

  10. I like the Frisco Lines coonskin in the picture.

Its cool seeing how the building has looked over the years.

I often hang out at the Van Buren depot when waiting to run the Arkansas & Missouri excursion train.

This is just a thought, if I got a sheet of plywood and made a replica of that sign, do you think they would let me hang it on the side of the depot?

    Ship it on the Frisco!

  11. Hey dose anyone know what years the Frisco Lines coonskin in the picure hung on the corner of the depot?

I'd like to know for my HO layout.

I still hope to make a plywood copy of this during the summer, If anything I could put it on my garage.

    Ship it on the Frisco!
