    To All:

Morning Sun has just released a new book entitled Prairie Depots in Color, Vol. 1 GN, MP, A&O, SLSF and M-K-T.

    The description reads as follows:

An all color look back at the small town stations and railroading in the prairie and plains as photographed by Richard S Prosser.
The authors are Robert Yanosey & David Hickcox and the book is 128 pages hardcover. The MSRP is $59.95, although the book can be purchased for less at book discounters.

My question at this point is obvious.

Has anyone purchased a copy and how much content is Frisco and where are some of the depots located?

    Thanks in advance.

Mark Davidson and I looked at a copy at Doc's Caboose on Saturday.

There were about 6-8 pages of Frisco stuff including Neodesha, KS.

    Also some nice MKT stuff.

    Also included: A&O?

As in Arkansas and Ozarks (A&O)?

  4. Yes, A&O is Arkansas & Ozark.

Excellent book. Lots of neat photos. Since it says Vol. 1, hopefully there will be more.

It has about the best photo I have ever seen of the Missouri Pacific (MP) depot in downtown Wichita. Worth the price of admission alone for me.

Despite the name, it is not just depots, lots of odd items, signals, bridges, yards, etc.

I was also at Doc's on Saturday.

I just remember that Frisco got its share, but not excessively so.

Remember some pictures from Clinton branch I have never seen before.

I went ahead and ordered it, just for the Frisco shots.

It would appear that the Highline was shot in October 1967 by a Richard Prosser.

Five photos of different crossing signals, one is a bell at Osceola.

The standard passenger train shots in Springfield, plus:

    A trestle near Wisehart
Two photos of Bolivar depot - north and south ends
    Cliquot siding
    Weableau depot
    Clinton yard
Osage River bridge - shot under the 3 bridges toward the power plant
    Trestle near Gunn City
    Harrisonville depot
    Belton depot

Sparse coverage of Kansas and Oklahoma considering the track miles, and one night shot in Fayetteville, AR.

    Bob:

Were there any photos at all of the Wichita Subdivision?

From what little I know of that line, yes.

He took a trip on May 30, 1958 and included photos of Neodesha, Fall River, Severy, Piedmont, and Augusta.

I should note that he includes a little history and commentary with each photo.
