My friend, Ken Steinhoff has posted pictures of the Frisco depot in Advance, MO. He took the photograph in 1966 as the tracks were being removed after abandonment in 1965. You can find them on his blog at the following link. http://www.capecentralhigh.com/cape-photos/advance-train-depot/ Ken is a retired photojournalist, originally from Cape Girardeau, MO. He is at risk of becoming a train buff due to exposure to me and our excellent forum. His excellent blog is focused on Southeast Missouri in the mid-sixties and features his photographic talent.
Ahh, Keith, you are making me blush. Glad to be of service. You might also like my account of the last train robbery in Missouri. Please see the following link. http://www.capecentralhigh.com/cape-photos/missouris-last-train-robbery/ It has a photograph of the Wittenberg, MO train depot.
Ken, Thanks for the photographs. At Keith's recommendation some time back, I had checked out your site and it is a treat, especially for the Southeast Missouri diaspora. These photographs are an interesting contrast to photographs that Karl Brand's father took in the winter of 1962-1963 as track men were upgrading the Hoxie Sub near Advance, MO. http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?339-Hoxie-Sub-Trackmen&highlight=Hoxie,+Advance,+pipeline
