    NW2 SLSF 253

    Here is an image of EMD NW2 SLSF 253 switching at Lindenwood Yard in Saint Louis, MO.

    Edit 2/25/2024: Note the two step taper from the hood top into the cab front. This is a characteristic of the first four phases of NW2 production. Frisco's first 10 NW2 units, SLSF 250-259,were phase IV units with this characteristic.

    Its last six NW2 units, SLSF 260-265, were phase V units. These units has a single continuous slope taper from the hood top to the front of the locomotive cab.
