Well, I had to take a load of fly ash down to El Dorado, ar. on friday, but today I'm gonna start on the mdc 0-6-0 that I just bought off ebay and put that PC valve gear kit to some good use.
I continued adding feeder wires to areas of my layout. I really hate to admit this but Ol Rick knows what he is up to. Thanks Rick! I also painted the track and ties in one of my yards. I also ballasted it. I started adding more feeder wires to my Katy yard but was rudely interrupted by a Severe Thunderstorm packing 70+ mile per hour winds. This caused me to have to spend a couple of days cutting up downed limbs and hauling them off. Went over to visit some friends at the Model Railroad club on Friday evening and had a great time. Isn't it wonderful to have friends to share this hobby with. Until the next time. Bob Wintle.
HWB asked: "What happened to the updates?" I didn't know whether to start another thread or continue this one... then got busy doing something and forgot it! ANYHOO... Here's what I been a' doin' this week: * Did a minor amount of work to my Baldwin project. (See pic link below). But I DID decide that this will remain an S-12 and will become my FIRST S scale Kansas City & Gulf unit. * Been amassing detail parts and supplies for the the winter (and needed to finish the Baldwin). * Found/purchased some key engine projects I want to tackle: 3 AM Undec GP9(7)'s, SHS Undec F3 AB, and an AM Undec FA2. * Disassembled my new SHS Undec SW-9 w/DCC and Tsnami, masked off the clear plastic pieces, and after supper last night, I started the painting process. HOPEFULLY... I'll have it decaled and weathered and READY TO RUN by the end of the weekend! (Or early this week.) Who's next? Andre Ming
Andre, you would have liked the train show i went to today in plano tx it was a nmra show mostly o,s and lionel trains but i did find a couple of HO items so i was happy and a classic vol 1 train video craig
I got my new Athearn SD40-2s out of their boxes and admired them for a bit, then put them back in the boxes until fall, when the AC business slows down.......
What did you think of the models? I have painted the handrails and weathered them. I'm happy with them now. They do have there imperfections but overall they are great addition to the stable.
I like em just fine. Whatever flaws they may have are easily covered by light weathering.........much like most of my custom work over the years.
Last Friday was work-related, so nothing done. However, over the weekend I have been busy myself relayong track in the staging area and at both ends of the loop. The staging track is Atlas code 80 with remote turnouts, and includes a turnout for routing to a future staging section. On the visible track, I lengthened one of the sidings by moving a couple of turnouts. Once I get the oval finished, I have two Atlas Trainman GP15-1s that need some break-in time so they can become the primary road power, much as the A&A Sub had in the late 1970s. Andre, any chance you can repost those Frisco shots you took on the Boston Mountain grade? I miss them, as well as the cab ride reports.
gla1975 asked: "Andre, any chance you can repost those Frisco shots you took on the Boston Mountain grade? I miss them, as well as the cab ride reports." Hi gla... Which Boston Mountain shots are you talking about? And which cab ride reports? Help me remember here, and I'll see what I can do. Andre
