    Folks -
An old Sunshine kit that I bought from MoPac modeler Jerry Glow years ago is nearly ready for the paint shop. I've seen better but I'm pleased with it.

I'm struggling with the end-roofwalk supports. I've tried at least two different techniques but am not happy with the results. The current solution was to bend my own supports from wire - I think it can work with a little more care, but I'm tempted to try brass strip.

As it is, the original resin roofwalk disappeared into the gravity sink that seems to capture all of my lost parts, so I replaced it with a spare Tichy USRA SS roofwalk.

Brad Slone, I like the look of your SL-SF reefer and how the roofwalk supports ended up (see http://www.frisco.org/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=1250&d=1129512935)

Thanks, in advance, for any hints or suggestions.

    Chris,

I typically use 1x2 strip styrene for the end supports. One word of caution, you might want to spray your decals with gloss coat before using them. Decals that old have a nasty habbit of disentagrating when you get them wet. If your car is the boxcar red version you purchase a replacement. However if it is the tan and brown version I don't know of any replacements for these.

Good words to live by, Brad - thanks for the advice on the decals and the supports.

When I bought the kit I bought without decals. I kicked myself afterwards but in retrospect considering my modeling pace (my son was born shortly thereafter) it was a good strategic decision!

I think Westerfield offers a decal-only set that looks like it will fit the bill. Someone also once told me that Joe Pennington had sets that he would sell but that's been a while back.
