The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad has hired a contractor to replace the ties on Trestle No 1 near Winslow AR.

The trestle is 700 feet long and about 115 feet high. It is a 1907 replacement of the original 1882 iron trestle built by Delaware Bridge Company.

The north end of the trestle abutment was rebuilt in 1944 while the south end has evidence of work dating to 1936.

The old ties coming off the bridge are made of pine rather than hardwood. The old ties have aluminum tags with a letter that appear to fill a function similar to date nails on ties.
