    To All:

There are several locomotive projects in the works, some already announced and some to be announced in the upcoming months. Please be mindful that everything is subject to change.

    (1) Stewart Phase IV U25b: This loco should be hitting the dealers shelves by the end of the year.
    (2) Intermountain O/W FP7A and F7B: Previously announced for delivery in July/Aug. of 2009 but now in TBD delivery status.
    (3) Glacier Park Models Brass 4500 Class 4-8-4's in many versions. Due out in November 2009.
    (4) Division Point Models Brass FA-1/FB-1 #5200-5231, 5302-5315 Set, FP and lettered. Due late 2009
    (5) Division Point Models Alco RS2 #60-62, FP and lettered. Due late 2009
    (6) Division Point Models E7A/E7A Set #2000-2005, FP and lettered Red w/Yellow Stripe. Delivery status TBD
    (7) Division Point Models E8A/E8A Set #2006-2022, FP and lettered Red w/Yellow Stripe. Delivery status TBD
    (8) Athearn SD45: Due to arrive late January 2010
    (9) Atlas U30b: We will probably see an announcement of the production of these sometime in 2010.
    (10) Athearn Genesis GP15-1: This long anticipated locomotive has finally been announced in the first 4 roadnames. Athearn announced up-front and had a Powerpoint presentation at Trade Shows for the last year saying they would produce the locomotive for all RR's that bought them. They are just not making them all at once.

In the case of the last two locomotives, both Atlas and Athearn have been supplied much information about the prototypes so I feel fairly confident we will see a great product when they are released.

Thanks Don for the update. I forgot all about that one, but by looking at the updated website, it will truly be a gem of a model! I encourage everyone to click link below which includes a great history and photos of the pilot model and the prototypes. Especially click on the pilot model to see a slide show of it. I will also cross-post this under Steam Locomotives. I have also updated the initial post to reflect it and four Brass Diesel offerings from Division Point that I left off. I guess my mindset this morning was "plastic" or "inexpensive" or both!

Bob, thanks for posting the info. I have never heard of Division Point Models. It would be interesting to get one. But being brass they are going to be expencive, so this 13 year old will have to pass them up. Who say's my late 70's freelaced branch can't have a passenger service? Out of curiousity, how much are they?
The SD45: hope to get one, maybe 2 and an intermountain F7B (O/W)
U30B: gald to here about it, hope to get it.
    GP15-1: maybe.

    Ethan:

None of the Brass announcements had a price associated with them, not even an estimate. For the sheer fun or it, I will guess the diesels to be between $700-$900 for the RS2 and $1,100-$1,500 for the two unit E sets. On the steam locomotiv, my guess would be $1,200-$1,800 a unit.
