My Apologies for lack of "Frisco" content; however, I am buying all the Cracker Jax I can find..... Check this one out ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNRbocWYA5M
That was just too cool! I laughed! Thanks Sherrel! Two thumbs up for that one, and the box of Cracker Jacks!
That is absolutely amassing! How did they do that? Any one notice that they had a few out of era cars? I think I'll go looking for my own watch now....... Ethan
I read The Girl, The Gold Watch and Everything by John MacDonald, published in 1962, while waiting alongside the tracks to watch Frisco trains. It is a cute story that uses the same watch gimick. Too bad you cannot push the button and see 4500's roaring by pulling The Meteor.
Being in the FILM industry as an Actor, all of the animation was done with what is called CGI or Computer Generated Imaging. It is a really fantastic concept, Most films now days use CGI's to create things that would otherwise be way beyond the films budget to have the real thing there, or the real thing isnt available at all. I have been in several films and commercials in which CGI's were used, all you need is a computer, and what is called a GREEN SCREEN which is exactly what it is...a very large FLORESCENT GREEN MOVIE SCREEN!!! it is totally cool!!! hope this helps in answering the question of how they did all that. I also noticed on the sides of the buildings and rolling stock, they put the names of the companies involved in making all those wonderful effects. Some of the companies which are located in DALLAS Texas, I know all too well their names and capabilities!!
