Standard Plan - Open Deck Pile Trestle (ODPT) Bridge, 4 Ply Chord, 6 Pile Bents - 1957

    These are the standard plans for a main line open-deck pile trestle.

    This is page 2 of 2 for the ODPT - 4-Ply Chord, 6-Pile Bents.

    This sheet deals with tower bracing and longitudinal bracing (girts). Note how the girts are attached to the piles.

    Tower bracing is required on trestles, which are 8 panels or longer, and higher than 22' from the top of the tie to the ground, and are to be placed in every third panel.

    Where the tower bracing might catch drift from high water, it may be omitted.
