These are four good roster shots of the GP38-2's in the early SLSF 400-478 series, two of each side. GP38-2's can be identified easily vs their earlier GP38 brothers by three quick spotting features: - the oval sight glass window on the right side hood back ahead of the radiators (a feature common to all "dash twos" (-2's), as in GP38-2, SD40-2, etc) - the two radiator cooling fans mounted very close together, while on the GP38 there is a large space between them - different Blomberg truck details (on all but the early GP38-2's), a different spring arrangement and a buffer (looks like a shock absorber) mounted on one end of each truck axle. SLSF 445, EMD GP38-2 SLSF 447, EMD GP38-2 SLSF 458, EMD GP38-2 Here are four more pics of Frisco GP38-2's in the SLSF 400-478 series from my "Enid" negative collection. These are a little higher up in the number series than the lower numbered units posted earlier. There is some decent turntable detail on the two SLSF 445 pics. I have the entire collection scanned in as of yesterday. Let me know if you want to keep seeing these. More GP38's, GP38-2's, GP35's, GP7's, F7's and FP7's are what's left. Ken
Please keep posting more. Theses pics confirmed that I need to have Gyro light and roof beacon on my GP38-2 #469.
