From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri:
Here we see Frisco No. 4208 2-8-2 Heavy Mikado Class built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1930. Seen here in the Frisco West Shops & Yards. It had been equipped with a T-Z Railway Equipment Company's smoke consumer, not turned on. I bet there is an after photo out there somewhere.

    Karl Brand comments:
The 4208 shows the results of her run-in with the 1520. On February 16, 1939 the 1520 was in charge of train 107, when she collided with train 238, engine 4208, at Quincy, Mississippi. The crew of 238 was held liable for failing to observe a Form E order, and a failure to observe a restrictive signal. The crew of 107 also held culpable for probably failing to observe a restrictive signal. The first car of 107 telescoped into 1520’s tender, which required an extensive rebuild.
As a result of the accident, the 4208 received Walschaert valve gear, which replaced the original Baker valve gear. The tender flank bears witness to some major body work. Although not labeled as such, a likely “after" picture exists in Collias’s book and on Frisco dot Org.
The Frisco applied the smoke consumers to several locomotives of its more modern engines, e.g., 4524. The over-fire jets, which are a part of this appurtenance are visible in this Art Johnson shot of 4300.
