Hi is my second GE Frisco loco. Started with the Atlas model, installed the Frisco details, used a Detail Associates 1001 Gyra light that I thinned down to fit on the nose plate. Then drilled out and installed a Richmond Controls light kit for the head lights and Gyra light. Now to put it to work.|-||-|

    Thanks Manny, Keith and Robert!
I ran out of time before posting this, as it had to be MU'ed, on-line and pulling something 10 minutes after my post:) Anyway we had a op session today and it was a blast for me, really enjoy people bringing their engines to run over here.
This thing has an Athearn super detailed chassis under it so it will operate in DC mode with all the other stuff we run here. But I did retain the Sound + DCC Atlas chassis. That makes a GP35 and B30-7, one was built be My friend Keith Robinson, and the other by Atlas, which I will be sending to Keith so he can make it better.

Guess there will have to be at least one consist for me for DCC and sound so perhaps when I make it back to see you guys, I can have something of my own to operate:D. Anyways, Other than the parts explained before, there is a speed recorder and wheel slip modulator by Custom Finishing, as well as a Details West air tank details package, and after milling and sanding all the factory details off the frame, the fuel fillers and gauges were added. Took the Detail Associates 3101 fuel tank details, and sanded the sight glasses down to flush-fit on the Athearn fuel tank. Anyway a little work for nothing as far as some might think, but we had fun with it.

One thing that I did notice, is that these older GE's are considerably shorter in stature than their EMD counterparts. Interesting for sure. I enjoyed this build. Will need me a U30B now:D, that will round off the GE roster for me.
    Thanks Guys!!

Tom, the sound that came with the B30-7 leaves a lot to be desired, and I would be glad to make it sound right.

BTW, one of the local modelers has four CGW GP30s with the Tsunami EMD 567D Turbos. With four of those guys lashed up in a consist, they make a wonderful sound. In fact, any group with Tsunamis consisted together makes a wonderful sound.

I just had to take those guys out of the cab, you know Union labor and all:eek: It was costing me too much to keep them.:D Not to mention their hours of service had expired several years ago. I cut the number boards away from the factory lens molding to allow the mounting of the Richmond Controls headlight Grya light kit. That chain for the hand brake was especially difficult to get on that little eye bolt. Hope that shell does not have to come off anytime soon.
