17/18, WOW! I may have an 18th based on a conversation I have going so if you give now, the free gift will be in question. Thanks, Charlie
Folks, All of the free gifts were claimed. They will go out in a week or so. I have to acquire some packaging materials but they will be on the way. Even though the free gifts are gone, if people still want to support the site with smaller donations, it would be quite helpful. Thanks, Charlie
Please send me the link and I will donate today. I know all the free gifts are gone, but honestly, I have enough stuff that my father saved to start the free gift stuff all over again. Remember the cardboard boxcars with matches? I have an unopened shipping box full of those boxcars (must be 500 in there), every timetable from every sub from the late 60s to the merger, hard hats, anniversary patches, everything... What I need are friends who share a common N Scale interest with my beloved Frisco!!!
My dad, John F Moore, Sr. (God rest his soul) started hanging mailbag overnight in the Rolla, MO depot when he was 16 (he lied about his age). He served 46 years with the Frisco/BN and retired in 1986 as Springfield Region Superintendent of Trains and Terminals. I love my dad, his memory, and his railroad, the Frisco.
Charlie, got the free gift today, that was very nice. That will go in my hobby room, I picked up the callander print of Nichols Junction at the joint Mopac meeting. Couple of those mean more to me, because of the memories they bring back when I worked their. I worked a Burro Crane up by Valley Park, retieing a bridge, bring's back the jitters, setting in a crane on top of a high bridge. Those Open Deck bridges really makes one bite the seat, a mistake there could hurt someone, we didn't use fall protection then. Probably if it had been more visable, we might have had to use a net, but at the time nobody really cared. Today's time, man they would really get you for that kinda stuff. HaHa, see what you started. Thanks so much for the gift!!!!!!!!!
