Sand Tower - Jonesboro, Arkansas - 1938

    The sand tower at Jonesboro was a homebuilt affair, and used second-hand 90 lb rail to support the storage tank that held 35.3 cu. ft. of sand.

    A note on the drawing indicates that the Lindenwood tank held 42.50 cu. ft. of sand, and suggests that both structures may have been similar.

    An Art Johnson photo of Monett shows a very similar sand tower.

    The structure would make an interesting model project for those inclined toward Frisco steam.
