Jim - is there any room to add a little weight to the front truck?
Also - I don't know the mechanics of how the front truck swivels but maybe a short piece of a spring from a ball point pencil could be added to the screw to hold the truck to the track?

Bingo! I used a stronger pilot truck spring from my scrapbox and not a single derailment after dozens of laps. The spring was obviously weaker and made from much smaller diameter wire. The older spring from a past Bachmann 4-4-0 project is much beefier. It seems to have done the trick. Thanks and sorry for thread jacking.

Man, what a great suggestion and remedy for a issue that I would have never considered. I mean there is always something to learn here, every day.

Another way is to discard the spring altogether and add a small lead weight to the pilot truck.

Is it possible to buy plastic roadbed (just the roadbed) for code 100 flex track, snap track, and turnouts?
