Anyone know when (what year) panel track sections first appeared on the Frisco railroad scene? Some old Atlas "Snap Track" on a flat car might be something we could add to our work trains!

    Thanks Tom

Those trailers would be a good modeling subject/project. I recall (year??) there was a spot at the Springfield West Shops north of the larger buildings where they manufactured, or at least assembled panel tracks. It was back before the BN days when they didn't seem to mind railfans driving or walking around.

I worked at the panel track in about 72. Panels have been around a long time. We had them on trailers when I worked with the cat pack about 75 0r so. Here is a old photo of the new panel track maybe 76 or so.
