    Hi Folks; I just joined the Frisco group; My main interests are the old southern division, and the Mississippian; I ran the last steam on the Mississippian in 1985, Engine #77; Since then I have been to her new home in Stettler, AB, Canada, and ran the engine there;

    I am compiling old footage of mainly Frisco action in and around Amory, Ms, With some locations in Springfield, and KC, during the transition from steam to diesel; This material was the work of Charlie Knox, General Foreman on the Frisco. I am looking for any additional Frisco material to add to what I have, such as Train Radio on the Frisco, etc. I have most of the 8mm and 16mm film transferred to digital media for editing; when completed I intend to make the final DVD available to anyone interested. Sure would like to smell some coal smoke and steam again. like to hear from other interested; also like to find an ho scale steamer to modify into a model of 2-8-0 #77. whistlin' thru dixie, yawl...dennis

    Welcome aboard! Looking forward to seeing Charlie's movies. Far too few exist of that time.
    I had the pleasure of riding around Amory in the cab of one of the 2-8-0s twice, while on my way to Ft. Rucker, AL with a very pregnant wife and again after getting out of the Army, again in AL. First time was 1963, second 1965. A great little operation and the Carlisle brothers were great hosts when we were there.

    You will get bacopy as soon as it's done...I'd like to include these in my production, with your permission.
    Think you'll like my finished product, which includes a couple of films made by Mr. Charlie Knox, the last General Foreman at Amory; One is a wheel change system, titled "One Spot Wheel Change system" and the one that's not epa approved, "Weed Control at the Amory Roundhouse". You'll be amazed! In the meantime, I can send you some stuff to tide you over! How about a doc i did on the #77, and some rr festival raw footage, when it really was a rr festival. e-mail me at msry77@yahoo.com.....thanks A LOT for the dvd's...dennis

    Welcome Aboard Michael. Glad to have you along for the ride. Do take time to just browse around, and don't forget the search feature. The forum looks different right now during some major upgrades (especially for a lot of us), but Mike has things well in hand and what we end up with will be fantastic.
