Hey y'all, my name is Steve and I live in Comanche, TX about .8 miles from the FWWR main line (Formerly FT. Worth & Rio Grande). While I am modeling modern day BNSF I am a history and rail buff so for kicks since the Lampasas Sub is boring as can be since 1993 as far as switching goes I am using a 1983 AT&SF Clic manual for my track planning needs. I model N scale and have a climate controlled 30'x31' steel building to use as my train room. I have done extensive research on the line that goes from Lometa, TX to Brady, TX but just recently found out about the North South Railroad in Brownwood, TX and the ex-Frisco line that now no longer exists from Brownwood, TX to Brady, TX. My job here actually helps me go out and learn more about the rail lines in the area as we supply BNSF (Bought Norfolk Southern First), TXR (Texas Rock Crusher Railway), TXP (Texas Pacifico), and SSC (Southern Switching Company) with oil, fuel or both depending on railroad. I am trying to find all the info I can on what is still here and what used to be both track and structure wise as I am doing modern with a big throwback to the past so if I get bored I can change area on demand with my own twist. I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now but there's the start!
Welcome, Steve. Sounds like you have a very nice layout"land grant" for N Scale, and comfortable even in the most oppressive weather. Lots of goodies around the site-enjoy browsing.
