I've been knocking around the idea of modeling the Afton Subdivision from just south of Miami to just south of Ft. Scott (I may include Afton Yard and a small part of the Cherokee Sub there), with Ft. Scott represented as a staging yard.

I've done research on train frequencies, and know for sure there were four through freights daily on this sub (two each way), plus at least the Columbus Switcher. Besides the Columbus Switcher, how many other switch jobs were on the Afton Sub (not including the one that ran the Miami Branch)? I'd like to get my traffic levels believable.

ALso, how often were yard drags run between Tulsa (CY) and KAnsas City (KY)? And the MPSX "white hopper" coal trains- weekly, IIRC. I have none of the white hoppers, but I have plenty of Frisco 100-ton hoppers (McKean, Bowser) to fill in on this job.

ANd how many chat trains were run out of NE Oklahoma around this time? I know I'm modeling an era after the mines have closed, and before the area became a Superfund site.

I'd appreciate the chance to talk to some of the old Afton Sub employees, if they're still around. My time frame is 1975-1977, which means I still run GP7s, and can introduce GP15s here & there (altho I knew in real life they were mostly on the Central Sub around Ft. Smith and Hugo).

    All help is appreciated.
