This is a good starting point for a Frisco Transportation truck: http://www.3000toys.com/catalog/item_detail.aspx?itemfind=SPEC-CAST38019 Another one: http://www.3000toys.com/catalog/item_detail.aspx?itemfind=SPEC-CAST38025 And an International version: http://www.3000toys.com/catalog/item_detail.aspx?itemfind=SPEC-CAST39501
Thanks for the info! How about a source for the FTC? There seems to be a lack of information on most railroad web sites regarding the rubber tire equipment operated by the railroads. I wonder if some of the truck sites might provide more material on this subject? The 1:50 scale models look much better when displayed with 1:48 rail equipment. I purchased the Athearn Ford box vans in both Rio Grande and Rock Island to use as flatcar loads. Weak on the history of the Frisco rubber fleet, did Frisco employ any box vans for LCL pick up and delivery service? Athearn could run them in N, HO and O scale if approached from the Frisco model community perhaps? Rio Grande fans are lucky in that there has been a book published on the Rio Grande Motor Way. Frisco fans sure could use one too! Joe Toth
The models in question at 3000 toys are 1:50 scale. Item: The GM&OHS had Double "R" Graphics do a special run of Classic Model Works model trucks for their 2008 special edition car release. Three different trucks were included in the package deal and offered in HO and N scale. Would be neat if Athearn would consider doing a Frisco vehicle run in HO, N and O scale! Joe Toth
Athearn doesn´t seem to be doing anything with their diecast 1:50 scale vehicles. Anyone know why? They have produced several trucks with featuring railroads. Frisco and Katy would be nice additions. Joe Toth
