I have never found any evidence of a Frisco line in Mobile, AL. So why is SLSF 1527 on display there? I found did find this photo of GM&O pulling it down there @ http://www.msrailroads.com/GM&O.htm

    Also found this photo...

Frisco's subsidiary, the AT&N ran to Mobile.

And after 1971, The Frisco ran to Mobile (the AT&N was absorbed into the Frisco proper at that time).

If I recall correctly, Frisco took control of AT&N in the late 1940s.

In the late 50's, why did GM&O pull Frisco 1527 to Mobile, AL to be put on display? Why didn't the Frisco pull it down there on the AT&N?

A pity she can't be purchased and moved to the new grounds of The Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, Texas, or any other Frisco town who would properly restore her and maintain her with pride.

With so many billionaire politicians, too bad some aren't railfans!
