I've recently been painting some things. So as to not clog up the works, however, I'll start with just posting a few things rather than dump everything here all at once. I'm know these are not 100% proto but they are a good enough representation for me. Just getting some Frisco steam in N scale at all is enough to make me happy for now. For these, I just removed and repainted the necessary portions to decal them into Frisco. Mikado 4207 and 4208.
To my eyes they look GREAT! Good to see some ersatz Frisco steam! What was your choice of brand/color for the paint? I really like the tint.
Just black primer with gloss black model master. Testors dull cote blends it all in to kill the gloss.
