This document contains a primer of the Frisco's MICS System.

It is all about Waybill Data Reporting, Wheel Reports, Interline Switching, et al.

An enterprising individual could adapt and adopt this for model layout operations.

    Karl, thanks for posting.

It will take me a long time to digest this information, and I will do so with a smile on my face the whole time.

    Best Regards,

    Thanks Karl!

Somewhere, I have a smaller book that gives a summary of the MICS commands available.

Your information is definitely earlier though, as what I have doesn't make any reference to teletype machines and it doesn't go into nearly the detail.

    Thanks, Karl.

It took me a while to get around to looking through the file, but I found the Frisco Waybill image that I was looking for.

I am in the process of re-creating it in Excel for posting as an Excel file and as a pdf.

I am attaching a scan of the book I made note of above.

The table of contents makes reference to the "Car Distribution and Control Manual" and the "Communication Control Inquiry Manual" for more complete descriptions of the commands and responses.

I'd like to see copies of one or both of those documents.

I think it would be a fun exercise to replicate the system for use on my model railroad.
