Most of my modeling operations focus on the Midwest where most of our Grain is produced.

To simulate a railroad, all this grain needs a place to go. Most of my layout plans focus of the "Memphis Route" from KC to Memphis and then Birmingham, so I'm wondering if anyone knows who would have received regular and or large shipments of grain in the south east part of the Frisco system?

I'm also guessing a decent amount of grain was sent off to other railroad shippers including SCL, SOU, L&N, etc. in that region as well?

  2. Some would go towards the Mississippi Delta heading towards the gulf and ocean to be loaded on ships.

I know most of the wheat grown here in Oklahoma was bought by the Russians to be shipped to the U.S.S.R or to the Ukraine area.

When the Chernobyl disaster occurred it destroyed hundreds of miles of good farmland.

I suppose some would head to the UP, SP and other big western outfits to the west.
