Company Service Cars, 11-1-1967 I was moving some posts to the MoW forum, and somehow I really messed up the previous table that Mike L. had uploaded! May I be forced to look at photos of nearly-identical BNSF locomotives for an hour...Chris A. (Yardmaster)
SLSF 99022 Wrecking Crane Here's a photo of a Wreck Crane in action. I believe it is #99022, but the photo is not clear enough for me to tell. Slide is dated February 1970. The photo was probably taken somewhere in Kansas.
SLSF Balast Hoppers Here's a string of Balast hoppers on a siding. I can't read the numbers under the SLSF reporting mark, but it looks like some fresh ballast has been dumped beside the tracks. Note also, there is a Wide vision caboose at the far end of the string of cars, and a quartet of F Units on the adjacent track. Photo was probably taken somewhere in Kansas. Slide is dated December 1969.

SLSF 975320 Crane? I caught this crane (BN405320) yesterday at the North Yard in Springfield. I was drawn to the Coonskin below the BN reporting marks. Does anyone know if this actually was a Frisco Crane, and if so, what was it's SLSF number? The frame is marked with the number 975320 (This is not clearly visible from the photos I'm posting). Could this be a clue to it's past? I took a couple of shots from the footbridge as well, but only one of those came out. I might head out there today and see If it's still. It might be in use somewhere near Springfield Yard, as there was quite a bit of work going on there yesterday. Paul

I found the Memphis wreck train at a scrap dealer here in Birmingham, AL in 1984. His plan was to sell it to Mexico. If anyone is interested I can post more detailed photos I took closer to the cars. David Gaines
