The location of the KCCS's 3-stall engine house, which was located in Olathe has eluded me for quite some time. I had assumed that it was located near the wye, or perhaps between the Frisco and the ATSF. After obtaining some copies of some Olathe plats, I believe that I can narrow the location to the south of Frisco's small Olathe yard. I have overlaid a plat transpancy over a MS Visual Earth Satellite image. It would seem that since the structure was razed, the site has become overgrown, but not developed. My next trip to KC will require a little field work to look for remnants. Given this new information, I have adjusted my imagineered drawing of the structure. The 12 windows have also been reconfigured with 3 of them being located on the south wall. I am also trying to locate a photo.
