Leaf spring caboose trucks?

Does anybody know of a source of leaf spring Bettendorf style trucks that would be appropriate for use under Frisco wood sheathed cabooses? When I inquired about this at a local hobby shop about 3 years ago, the salesperson said nobody made them anymore. I know that the Frisco cast their own trucks, so I'm not looking for an exact match, just one that's close.

Rich - I like the Tichy Bettendorf double leaf caboose trucks. They look good and run good. Plastic frames, plastic wheels, steel axles. I always change out the wheelsets to Kadee's; makes 'em run even better.

Walthers carries them: Tichy #3051, were $2.95 a pair last time I ordered them (a few years ago). You can also order directly from Tichy. They have several different trucks available.

    Ken,

Thanks for the information. A look at the Walthers website reveals that individual trucks are not available but a 10 pack is (for $15.50). Since these would also work for the several Santa Fe style cabooses that I have, I'll order the ten pack. I'll end up using most of them.

    Rich -

If Walthers is out of individual Tichy #3051 trucks, you might try Tichy's web site and order them directly from there - that's what I usually do (they also have a lot of good detail parts available). They do show individual caboose trucks are still in stock, at $2.95 per. But, as you say, if you need several, the 10-pack is the way to go.

    Their web site is www.tichytraingroup.com

They have nice versions of the Andrews, generic Bettendorf, Bettendorf coil/leaf sprung, and arch bar trucks as well.
