My daughter picked out some paint for our underutilized guest bedroom that has a nice, large south-facing window that is desirable for a virtual classroom setting for the hard-working David H. Hickman High School senior. As it started to dry, I remarked that "this would be really good for a layout backdrop, since it has the blue-gray tinge that really captures the look of the horizon." Turns out that the color is appropriately named. I'm hoping that we'll have leftovers. https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/find-your-color/color/oc-53/horizon?color=OC-53
My mid-sky color is Perfectly Blue from Valspar; https://lowes.askval.com/ColorDetail?r=168&g=211&b=234
I used two shades of blue Valspar on my background from Lowe's, also have Forest Green on fascia. The light blue is about the same as Keith's paint sample, the other blue is about two shades darker and used at the top of background. Lowe's paint guy didn't put color name labels on the blue cans and didn't realize it till a couple days later. Oh Well. Joe
Yeah, as I review further, the Benjamin More Horizon might be better for the first 1-2” above ground level and then blended with the bluer shades further up. Took a closer look at some pics I took for possible backdrop tree lines and at least in the mornings, it’s quite blue.
I'm going to be needing back drop paint soon for my new layout. Has anyone's picks for back drop blue changed in the past 3 years?
