I took delivery of an Akane USRA Light 2-8-2 back on 2-15 that was painted PRR, but otherwise stock with low mileage. I have a bunch of in process photos on Dropbox and Charlie will size them to post to the Archive, but as of this afternoon it had a shakedown run, checked out by the boilermakers and machinists and released to the Newburg roundhouse foreman for service.
With those limestone bluffs in the background, she could almost be hauling a fast freight up or down the River Division. Good looking acquisition and work, Don. I've always wondered/always forget to ask: what is the larger diameter piping just behind the stack and around the engineer's side of the smokebox? Best Regards,
Thanks, Don. I always fret about putting a detail on that I see in photos, and finding out that, for instance, "that unit didn't have a booster!" Rather like my first Frisco F7A, where I neglected to remove the dynamic brakes. Oh well. That's probably punishment enough for wandering down the diesel path. At any rate, #4026 looks like she's ready for a long steady career of service on your Eastern Division. Best Regards,
