Pronounced LAY Seen, and sometimes called Lacy Gene by some whose tongue was placed firmly in their check. Circa Late '60's
my copy of the Northern division B&B manual says that LaCygne, KS had a north and south Section House, does anyone know why?
La Cygne was the headquarters for Section Gang 13 and Section Gang 14. Evidently, Boicourt was not deemed suitable to locate a gang, so Gang 14 was stationed there as well. Gang 12, quartered at Fontana, worked section 120, MP C48-C54 Gang 13, quartered at La Cygne, worked section 121, MP C54-C60 Gang 14, quartered at La Cygne, worked section 122, MP C60-C66
I've taken an interest in La Cygne as a potential modeling spot. I went through a couple times and got some reference pictures to use and wanted to share them. As many pictures as there are, I'll link to the album so that this page doesn't take forever to load. Most of the picture previews show up sideways for some reason, but they are correct when you open them. http://frisco.org/shipit/index.php?media/albums/la-cygne-ks.292/
