Wondering if anyone has a track chart of Memphis’ Kentucky Street interlocking plant, which the Frisco and others used? Thinking of making a small module/diorama. I can’t locate it within the Memphis Terminal schematics, but that may be an eyesight issue. Here’s a page for the initiated on Mike Condren’s archived site. I could try based off of pics of the CTC panel. https://condrenrails.com/MRP/Memphis Towers & Junctions/Kentucky-Street.htm
Chris, would it be Memphis Zone 3 Broadway or K.C. Junction? I notice that the Interlocker Panel is a GRS panel.
Keith, I think KC Jct. is a different location nearby, but your post did prompt me to take a closer look at the other schematics. I believe the Zone 3 - Broadway charts might be the ones I’m seeking. https://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/memphis-industry-schematics-2-21-1972.821/#post-5048 The last photo of the Kentucky Street interlocking”tower” in the Mike Condren photos shows Fraenkel Wholesale Furniture in the background, which is shown as Spot 332B on the schematic. I might be able to figure out where exactly the tower was located based on pics. It also might be time for a new pair of glasses. 8^)
The Zone Three Broadway Industry Schematic is the correct location. "Kentucky Street" is located at MP C-483.55. Check the Forums/Historical/Operations/Terminal Employee Timetable (ETTs) for a couple of early 1960's-era, Memphis Terminal Division timecard, which offer further bits about Kentucky Street.
