    Folks,

Some interesting information from the Wabash Yahoo Group, regarding the Wabash's operations in Kansas City.

I've only included any information that might be relevant to the Frisco, especially as it would pertain to recreating interchange traffic in miniature.

Wabash Kansas City Freight House & Team Track Yard
62 cars can be spotted for loading/unloading. All merchandise for points beyond Kansas City is delivered to outbound lines by 2:00 pm, insuring prompt forwarding.

    Missouri Produce Yard
Located north of Front St. between Grand Ave. and Lydia Ave. is the principal perishable market in Kansas City. It is a modern, well equipped facility owned jointly by the Missouri Pacific, Santa Fe, Rock Island and Burlington, and is open to all KC lines on a reciprocal switching basis. Switching service is rendered by the four owner lines, and our interchange is conducted in the same manner as on any other traffic interchanged with those roads.

    Deliveries to Connecting Lines
SL-SF = The Frisco train yards are located in what is known as Rosedale, Kansas. They also have a small yard adjacent to their freight house between 12th and 19th Streets. We can make delivery from our North Kansas City train yard direct to the Frisco with our own power, delivering all business into the Rosedale yard.

The Frisco have a good many industries on their rails who give us nice business. Our switch power is so scheduled that we make delivery out of both No. 91 and No. 89 on all business for Frisco industries so that cars will be placed for unloading early in the AM. In order for us to get to the Frisco Rosedale Yard we have to use the Burlington and Kansas City Terminal tracks.

    Cars Interchanged From Connecting Lines
    AT&SF
    CRI&P
    CB&Q
    MKT
    SL-SF
Each of these lines make delivery with their own power direct into our North Kansas City Yard. Their deliveries are made so as to promptly connect with our outgoing manifest trains.

    Kansas City Stock Yards
We make deliveries and pull the loaded cars with our own power in most cases, using the tracks of the CB&Q, KCT and SL-SF to reach the Kansas City Connecting Railway on whose tracks the loading and unloading is accomplished. It usually requires about one hour to make deliveries or to get the loaded cars to our North Kansas City Yards.
