    Hello to all:

I come from a Frisco family with both my parents having worked for Frisco. Mom as keypuncher at General Office-St. Louis and my Dad at Lindenwood Yards and later the office. Mom met my Dad at a Frisco picnic. Mom was the 3rd generation of her family to work for Frisco. Her great-grandfather came from Ireland and laid track for them in the St. James-Rolla area. Her dad and his 4 brothers all became Frisco conductors or switchmen. An article about them appeared in Frisco Employee Magazine in 1925- Five Carrigan brothers with 182 years of service.
We traveled a lot all over the US on Dad's pass when I was younger and I still love trains. I've taken a couple of long-distance trips on Amtrak and they were very enjoyable too.
Dad died in 1973 and did not have to see the BN take over our beloved Frisco. Mom was very upset when BN removed the Frisco sign from Dad's office. Now the office is gone, no more clerks are needed. When I see BNSF now, I say the SF part was from SLSF, not the Santa Fe.
